Boyd E. Hood

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Boyd E. "Butch" Hood, 78 of Northumberland, Pa. Born in Carlisle, Pa on December 7, 1946 to the parents of the late Edward D. Hood and Betty Graver Hood

A proud United States Air Force veteran, Butch served honorably in the Vietnam War, dedicating himself to his country with courage and commitment. A lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and also an active member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion in Sunbury, Pa. Butch retired from Phillips Industry.

Butch will be lovingly remembered by his two sisters Betty Chappell Eyerly and Louise James, along with his nieces Ruth Osman of Lewisburg, Jamie DiRocco of Northumberland, Betty & Scott Page of Mifflinburg, Connie Flannery of Irmo, SC and Melissa & Donnie Machamer of Lewisburg. 

Butch is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Penny Welsh and one great-nephew, Bradley DiRocco.

A private service will be held at a later date.
