Brett Roger Dressler, 47, of Selinsgrove entered into rest on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at his home with his loving family by his side.
Brett was born on January 23, 1979, in Lewisburg. He was the son of Carin (Hoke) Dressler of Selinsgrove and the late Roger Lee Dressler, who preceded him on August 28, 2024. Brett was a 1997 graduate of Selinsgrove High School and the Pennsylvania College of Technology, Williamsport.
He was formerly employed at Wood-Metal and Wood-Mode. He served in the United States Marines Corps Reserve during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Brett received the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with one bronze service star, Iraq Campaign Medal with one bronze service star, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with ‘M’ device, and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
He was Lutheran by faith and attended Salem Lutheran church, Selinsgrove. Brett was a member of the American Legion Post No. 25, Selinsgrove and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6631, Selinsgrove. Brett held various positions within the legion and was a member of the Funeral Honor Guard. He was an advocate for all veterans and helped establish the Military Food Bank to assist local veterans and their families. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and spending time at Shady Rest Hunting Camp in Potter County. Brett also enjoyed cooking and assisting his father with making barbeque chicken for the local community.
In addition to his mother Carin, Brett is survived by his stepson Tyler Bean-Dowell and his fiancée Kalli, two sisters Trudy (Dressler) Griggs and her husband Jeffrey S. and Andrea (Dressler) Reinard and her husband Steve, three nieces and a nephew Alexandra Griggs, Ryan Kuhn, Maura Kuhn, and Halle Kuhn, a great-niece Hazel Elizabeth Pufnak, and an Aunt Susie Dressler.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove followed by the funeral service at 10:00 a.m.
Burial with full military honors accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25 and Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631 will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
