Carolyn Yvonne Anderson

After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Carolyn Yvonne Anderson, 80, of Selinsgrove, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 13, 2026, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.

Born on September 13, 1945, in Lewisburg, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Albert and Vera (Bowersox) Shaffer.

Carolyn attended Selinsgrove Area High School and Wesley United Methodist Church.  She worked over 30 years in banking, starting as a teller for the Snyder County Trust Company and retiring as a compliance officer at Omega Bank.

Her children will always cherish the memories of growing up with a young, beautiful, energetic, and athletic mom. They felt her love, devotion, and encouragement every day.

Her grandchildren loved her sense of adventure and will always remember Grandma white water rafting, swimming in the ocean and riding the roller coasters and the Sklooosh at Knoebels. Carolyn loved to travel — especially unforgettable Alaskan cruises with her beloved husband, Ron, swimming with dolphins, and trips to the shore with her grandchildren.

She loved her dogs, Sara, Steffy, Sammie Jo and Sandy Jo, flower gardening, reading, and sewing. Known affectionately as “Grandma” or “Gmama" to her grandchildren and "Hip" to Ron, Carolyn's warmth and love touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 65 years, Ron Anderson; a son, Chris Anderson (Melissa) of Mechanicsburg; a daughter, Karen Kahn of Selinsgrove; and five adoring grandchildren, Andy Anderson (Madeline), Ben Anderson (Kylie), Elaine Anderson, Allison Kahn, and Megan Kahn.

Funeral services will be private for the family. Interment will take place in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Selinsgrove.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
