Cecelia M. Persing, 73, of Sunbury, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026, at Nottingham Village in Northumberland.
She was born Dec. 19, 1952, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Eugene and Barbara (Royer) DiBonaventura. Cecelia was a 1970 graduate of Shikellamy High School. On April 9, 1972, she married Robert A. Persing, who survives.
She had been employed at Rea & Derrick Drugs, and also at Gass Electric.
She was a member of the Catawissa Avenue United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. Cecelia loved cats and was a great cook.
Surviving in addition to her husband of 53 years is a son, Michael A. Persing; two grandsons, Nick and Gus Persing; a brother, Michael (Cathy) DiBonaventura; a sister, Melissa (Jim Schriver) DiBonaventura, and two generations of nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the VL Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 3 p.m. with Pastor Megan Millard officiating.
