Collette Elizabeth (Rauch) Riggs, 87, of Selinsgrove PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at her home. Collette was born on April 19, 1938, in Richland, Lebanon Co., PA. She was the daughter of the late George and Julia (Schaeffer) Rauch. On May 19, 1968, she married George Paul Riggs, Jr., who survives. The couple were married for 57 years at the time of her passing. Collette was a graduate of the Heritage School of Nursing in Mobile, Alabama and later served in the United States Air Force as a Captain from 1961 to 1968. She served as a Registered Nurse during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Longevity Award. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was very competitive when playing games. Collette was known by her family and friends for her excellent baking, cooking, and was a Christian believer in her Lord and Savior, and prayed to him daily.In addition to her loving husband George, a son Paul in Maryland and daughter-in-law Chamaiporn in Phitsanulok Thailand survive her, as do another brother-in-law Philip and his wife Blandina, as well as two other sisters-in-law Bonnie (Riggs) and husband Bill Clawser and Pamela (Riggs) wife of the late Bill Graffius. In addition to her parents, Collette was preceded in death by a daughter Beth Louise (Riggs) Hall and an older sister Barbara Rauch. A brother-in-law, Larry, also preceded her but is survived by fondly loved nieces and nephews. Interment with full military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, 60 Indiantown Gap, Road, Annville PA. A funeral procession will be leaving from the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St. at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for those who wish to attend the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Collette to any local church of the donor’s choosing. Arrangements by the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, Selinsgrove.
