Donald Eisenhart Obituary

Donald Paul "Donnie" Eisenhart, 62, of Sunbury, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at Geisinger in Danville with his daughter by his side. He had multiple complications from pneumonia.

He was born July 12, 1962, in Sunbury, the son of the late John Albright Eisenhart and Martha Jane Summers. He is also predeceased by his older brother John Thomas Eisenhart.

Donnie trained for his CDL with, and worked for Milton Transportation, Milton, PA. Later, he worked as a heavy hauler and trainer for Modular Homes.

He attended Selinsgrove High School and as a young man, he was a member of the DH&L Fire Co. where he was a junior volunteer firefighter and continued as a member into adulthood; he was also an officer of the Sunbury Steam Fire Engine Company Number Ones. Additionally, he was a member of the American Legion Post #25, Fraternal Order of Eagles #503, and Selinsgrove Moose Lodge.

If you knew Donnie, you knew you had a friend. Donnie was a people person, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He could talk to anyone and everyone, and always had a smile for you. He loved football and was an avid New York Giants fan. Donnie enjoyed playing pool and was a member of various leagues in the area. He loved watching sprint car racing, and was a regular at the Selinsgrove Speedway. Donnie actually used to race at the Selinsgrove Speedway in the early 90s. He attended races with his daughter, Alana, most summer weekends. Each year they would travel to the annual Tuscarora 50 at Port Royal Speedway in Port Royal, PA.

Donnie is survived by 2 daughters and a son, Alana, Julianna, and Jonathan; 3 sisters and 2 brother-in-laws, Mary Renn and companion, Barry Losch, of Port Trevorton, Lana and Jim Souder, of Sunbury, and Kitty and John Souder, of Dalmatia; 1 sister-in-law, widow of John, Mary Ann Eisenhart of Selinsgrove; 14 nieces and nephews; 22 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Arrangements are private, with cremation arrangements handled by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Selinsgrove. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
