Gene L. Groce

Gene Leroy Groce, 79, of Selinsgrove passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 6, 2026, at his home.

He was the husband of the late Suzanne (Lane) Groce. Gene was born on December 25, 1946, in Harrisburg, the son of the late Herbert and Florence (Freed) Groce.

He was a 1964 graduate of Selinsgrove High School.

Gene retired from Amp Inc./Tyco Electronics. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove and the Hummels Wharf Fire Company. Gene loved spending time with his family and traveling to the beach. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, and Penn State fan.

He is survived by his son Brian Groce, a granddaughter Maggie Groce and her significant other Gunther Hardes, a brother and sister-in-law Kenneth and Faye Groce, and a niece.

In addition to his parents and wife, Gene was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Susan (Reiland) Groce.

There will be no services. Burial will be held at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Freeburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Gene to Tanglewood Nature Center, 443 Coleman Ave. Elmira, New York 14903.
