James Auman Jr. Obituary

James Earl “Jim” Auman Jr., 67, of Selinsgrove passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 7, 2025, in Selinsgrove. He was born on August 3, 1957, in Sunbury, the son of the late James Earl Sr. and Maureen Cecelia (Reedy) Auman.

On May 26, 1995, he married the love of his life Rhoda E. Englehart, who survives. The couple were married 29 years at the time of his passing.

Jim was employed as a HVAC technician and was employed by many companies around the area for the better part of his life. He was a US Army veteran where he served his term in Iraq. Jim was a man who would do anything for anyone.  He was a lifetime member of the Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25 and was a member of the Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6631, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1173, and the Hummels Wharf Fire Company. Jim’s favorite past time was shooting pool, he also liked playing poker, fishing, riding 4-wheeler and decorating for his famous Halloween parties. He was also known to be a hardworking man and a loving husband, picking on people and spending time with his grandchildren especially Nathan and Aryia.

In addition to his wife Rhoda, Jim is survived by his children  Brandy (Jeff) Margel, Nicholas (Kimberly) Auman, Christopher Smith, and Jamie (Jeremey) Newbury, five grandchildren Alexis (Matthew) Apple, Hayden Auman, Nathan Harvey, Brianna Margel, and Aryia Newbury, two great-granddaughters Charlotte and Sophia, a brother Henry Auman, two sisters Sharon Shelley and Billie Jo Machlovitz, and his very best friend Raymond Sampsell.

A celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
