James B. Wentzel II, 76, of Selinsgrove, passed away on April 13, 2026, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born on December 21, 1949, in Danville, he was a son to the late James and Hazel (Boyer) Wentzel.
Following high school, James earned an associate degree in diesel mechanics from Williamsport Area Community College.
James served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard.
As a dedicated farmer, James spent his years working on the family farm and serving as a farmhand for Furman's Farms.
James was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 6631, a member of the Moose Lodge 1173, American Legion Post 25, NRA, PA Farm Bureau, and the Middlecreek Antique Association. He was also a volunteer for the Veterans Food Bank and did a frequent amount of volunteer work for the VFW, Moose, and Legion. James was an avid supporter of Patriots Cove, a non-profit organization that provides free, accessible outdoor retreats for wounded veterans, ill first responders, and their caregivers, focusing on healing through hunting, fishing, and environmental stewardship.
In his free time, James enjoyed hunting, outdoors, family gatherings, and most of all, spending quality time with his son, Brian.
James is survived by two sons, Brian Wentzel and Daniel (Camelia) Wentzel; a brother, Glen (Nancy) Wentzel and their children, Christopher (Abby) Wentzel and Nicholas (Cindy) Wentzel; and a sister, Susan Goldberg and her children, Ryan (Charlien) Goldberg and Chad Goldberg.
A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday, April 20, 2026, at V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, Selinsgrove, and again on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Wesley United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove from 10-11 AM followed by a funeral service at 11 AM with Rev. Michael Stine officiating.
Interment with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 6631 and the American Legion Post 25 will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Selinsgrove.
