Larry Eugene Koch, 81, of Selinsgrove passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at his home. He was the husband of the late Theresa Ann (Hafer) Koch, who preceded him on July 10, 2024. The couple were married for 55 years at the time of her passing. Larry was born on December 31, 1943, in Woodstock, Shenandoah County, Virginia and was the son of the late Dale Eugene and Catherine Virginia (Funkhouser) Koch. He was a graduate of Danville High School and served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Larry was a truck driver. He began as an independent operator and later retired from Butter-Krust Baking Company. Larry was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove where he was involved with the Busy Bee’s and Christian Classics groups. He was a member of the Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25, Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6631 and enjoyed his monthly luncheons with the Butter-Krust retirees’ group. Larry was an avid reader, especially history books. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie and Michael Gillespie, Jamie and Christopher Kerstetter, two granddaughters Erin Gillespie, Mallory Gillespie, one grandson, Grayson Kerstetter, two brothers and sisters in law, Norman and Joni Koch, Dan and Nanci Koch, and three sisters, Gail Dewalt, Kim Birdsong, and Laurie Brosious, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Larry was preceded in death by a brother Michael Koch on February 5, 2008. There will be no viewing. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3939 Park Road, Selinsgrove followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eric J. Shaffer officiating and Pastor Andrew Bucke assisting. Burial with full military honors accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Post No. 25 and Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6631 will follow the service in Shreiner’s Cemetery, Selinsgrove. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in loving memory of Larry to the Selinsgrove Area Meals on Wheels, 129 N. Market Street, Selinsgrove, PA 17870 or to Christ Community United Methodist Church. Arrangements by the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove.
