Mildred Grace “Millie” Perkinson, 82, of Selinsgrove entered into eternal rest reuniting with her husband Gary on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on January 9, 1944, in Washington Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late James Lewis and Ella Jane (Kratzer) Heckman. Mildred was the wife of the late Gary Lee “Fats” Perkinson, who preceded her on December 31, 2025.
Mildred was formerly employed at Phillips Industries, Selinsgrove. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She loved spending time with her family. Mildred enjoyed cooking and baking and was known for her “Wacky Cake”. Other enjoyments were playing cards, putting puzzles together, and solving crossword puzzles.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Scot and Brenda Perkinson, two daughters and a son-in-law Lori and Larry Miller, and Wendy Perkinson, four grandchildren Troy Berge and his fiancée Tanya Forney, Jamie (David) Eister, Samantha (Matthew) Gehers, and Amanda Perkinson, six great-grandchildren Mason Berge, Jillian Gehers, Levi Gehers, Savannah Gehers, Cameron Eister, and Alex Eister, six brothers Gene (Terri) Heckman, Bill (Teana) Heckman, Clarence (Jan) Heckman, Donald Heckman, Larry (Lori) Heckman, and Gary (Deb) Heckman, three sisters Carol Zarr, Fran Roush and her companion Larry Snook, and Debra (Arnold “Bubbles”) King, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband of 57 years, Mildred was preceded in death by a son in infancy baby boy Liddington, a grandson Travis Berge, and three brothers James Heckman Jr., Harry Heckman, and Elvin Heckman.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Independent Bible Church, 7812 Middle Road, Beavertown followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Alvin E. Smith officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
