Nancy L. Jumper, 84, of Northumberland, passed away surrounded by so many who loved her on March 31, 2026, at Nottingham Village.
Born June 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Carmen Engle and Jacob Willis. In October 1957, she married William Mitch, Sr., who passed away in 1984. She would later marry Lynn Jumper who passed away in 2023.
She had 3 sons, Bill and Chick Mitch, Tim Mitch and Amy Keister, and James and Rufina Mitch; 4 daughters, Cindy Wilt and Ron Conrad, Cathy and Tony Shaffer, Mary Jo and Shawn Wenrich, and Barbara Mitch who passed away as an infant; and a special niece, Tina Rains who she considered a daughter.
She had 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter.
Nancy had 6 brothers and 1 sister. Jim (Star), John (Tina) Willis, who passed in 2022, Tim (Sue), who passed in 2025, Jay (Linda) Willis, George (Anna) Willis, Keith (Theresa) Beaver who passed away in 2025, and Deb (Mike) Shingara. She had a special friendship with her cousin Joyce. She had a special kitty named Baby Princess who she loved very much.
Nancy worked various jobs throughout her life but spent most of it as a housewife and full-time mom. She was a member of the Norry Hookies and the American Legion Post 44.
There were many unique qualities that made everyone love her. Her personality and loving heart made everyone enjoy being around her. She was a social butterfly. She made a friend at every store and restaurant that she visited regularly. She would share her address and ask them to stop by for coffee. She was the thriftiest person you'd ever meet. She had the ability to recycle anything into a work of art. She turned any take out container into fine chinaware. Her ability to remember things was more than impressive. She had the best sense of humor. She loved to get the scoop and share it with any listening ear. She listened to Bigfoot Country every single day, which helped her to get local information to share.
She loved shopping. She could spend hours in one store, especially the thrift store. She enjoyed going out to eat, crafting, and listening to classic country music.
Thank you to everyone who loved her and made her feel special. A special thank you to those amazing people who visited her, and those who sent cards or flowers to her. It meant so much to her. She had a special friend, Betty Moyer, who made sure she never felt alone while she was in the nursing home. A special thank you to the staff at Evan. Hospital and at Nottingham Village for taking care of our mom and loving her as much as we do. "The greater someone has loved in their lifetime, the more broken the hearts they leave behind."
