Paul Thomas Freed, 90, of Freeburg entered into rest on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Paul was born on December 2, 1934, in Washington Township, Snyder County, the son of the late Harley Milton Sr. and Margaret Grace (Good) Freed. He was a graduate of Freeburg Academy and later served in the United States Marine Corps as a Military Policeman.
Paul retired from the Selinsgrove Center as a Residential Service Aide.
He was a member of Freeburg United Methodist Church and attended Sharon Lutheran Church, Selinsgrove. Paul was a previous member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Freeburg.
He was a life member of the Roosters Corner Sportsmen’s Club. Paul was also a member of the Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25 and the Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631 and was a member of the Military Honor Guard.
Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, especially for trout, and golf.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law Jeffery E. and Beatrice Freed of Freeburg, and Troy D. and Tammy Freed of Penns Creek, three daughters Debra Henry and her partner Wayne Henry of Globe Mills, Teresa Snyder, and Denise Longacre both of Selinsgrove, 10 grandchildren Alexander, Travis, Alicia, Mikayla, Kara, Corey, Adam, Brandan, Ryan and Tommy, eight great-grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law Harley Jr. and Marjorie Freed and Dale and Arlene Freed all of Selinsgrove, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his daughter Kathy Bingaman on January 11, 2018, a son-in-law Bruce Snyder, three brothers Carl Freed, Harold Freed, and Allen Freed and a sister Betty Douty.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Freeburg United Methodist Church, E. Church Street, Freeburg followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joan Dodson officiating. Burial with full military honors accorded by the Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25 and Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631 will be in Fairview Cemetery Freeburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Paul the Selinsgrove Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6631, 940 US Route 522, Selinsgrove, PA 17870, the Selinsgrove American Legion Post 25, 524 S.
