Raymond G. Leach, 84, of Freeburg passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Nursing & Rehabilitation at the Mansion, Sunbury. He was born August 31, 1940, in Sunbury, a son of the late George and Leah (Trutt) Leach. On March 25, 1972, he married the former Linda M. Rapp who survives. Raymond was a graduate of Northumberland High School. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Selinsgrove. Raymond was one of the original members that helped to start the fire police for all of Snyder County and served as Chief of Fire Police for the borough of Freeburg. He worked security for the Bloomsburg fair, was on the chain gang for the Selinsgrove Area High School football team for several years, played softball and in his younger years, he raced micro sprints and late models. He was known to be very talkative and was very well known to many and will be dearly missed. Raymond was an avid sports fan and most importantly, he loved attending his granddaughter’s sporting events. In addition to his wife Linda of 53 years, Raymond is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Leach and her companion Scott Walter; two granddaughters, Maryssa (Tim) Horlacher and Isabella Newman; two great-grandchildren, Laurence and Leona; two brothers, Dennis and Robert Leach; two sisters, Susan Riland and her companion Joe Shingara and Judy Swartz; brother-in-law, Lewis (Beverly) Rapp; two sisters-in-law, Donna Hummel and Gail Rapp; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Carolyn Leach; three brothers-in-law, Gary Riland, Roy Rapp, and Wayne Hummel. At Raymond’s request no services will be held. Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
