Richard Hackett Obituary

Richard “Rick” D. Hackett, 76, of Selinsgrove passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Rick was born on July 5, 1949, in Juniata County and was the son of the late Frank and Sarah (Walton) Hackett. He retired from the former Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove as a Maintenance Supervisor. Rick enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and occasional trips to the beach. He also enjoyed helping all types of animals and held a special place in his heart for his dog “Tookie”, which he called his special little buddy. Rick attended Hummel’s Church Middleburg and was a former member of the Kreamer Sportsmen’s Club. He is survived by his daughter Ashley Hackett and her companion Brent Merena, daughter Denise (Pete) Primak, fiancée, companion and the love of his life of 24 years who he called “Wifey” Janet Roush and her children Justin (Jessica) Roush, Joshua (Deidre) Roush, Jessica Roush and her fiancé Carl Oberdorf, and grandchildren Chase and Dakota, and a sister Linda Settles. In addition to his parents, Rick was preceded in death by two sisters Shirley Taylor and Betty Yetter and two brothers David Hackett and Robert Hackett. A private graveside service will be held in Wayside Bible Church Cemetery, Middleburg with Rev. Carvel May officiating. Arrangements by the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove.
