Russell F. "Russ" Delp, Jr.

Russell F. “Russ” Delp, Jr. of Selinsgrove, passed away on February 16, 2026 at Nottingham Village Nursing Care Center where he has resided since 2022.  The family wishes to express gratitude for the exceptional and compassionate care Russ received at Nottingham Village.

He was born in Sunbury, PA. July 13,1946 a son of the late Russell F. Delp, Sr. and Anna (Kistner) Delp.

Russ was a 1964 graduate of Northumberland High School where he enjoyed playing on various sports teams.  He graduated from Bloomsburg University and Penn State University. As a resident of Northumberland, he had the honor of being the first President of the Northumberland/Point Township Kiwanis Club (1974-1975).

Russ had a long career as a Social Worker in West Virginia, Northumberland County, and Selinsgrove Center.  Russ took pride in the experience of completing a special undercover project for the PA. Department of Public Welfare that resulted in the protection of many people with disabilities at a facility in western part of Pennsylvania.  In addition to his career in social services, he also worked as a licensed real estate broker and appraiser and enjoyed selling a lot of real estate in the area. 

Russ enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia and coins, attending and watching sporting events, travel, 60's & 70's music concerts, watching political news programs, and pet rescue activities. 

He is survived by his life partner Ellen and her daughter Jennifer (husband Matt Holloway) of Florida, along with many cousins.

In honor of Russ's wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Cherished Cats Rescue Alliance or Pet Rescue of your choice.
