Sharon C. Smith

Sharon C. Smith, 76, of Selinsgrove, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center surrounded by family.

Born on November 12, 1948, in Woodbury, New Jersey, Sharon was a daughter to the late Clayton and Marjorie (Steffen) Clifford.

Sharon graduated from Selinsgrove Area High School, class of 1966, and earned her Bachelor of Education from The Pennsylvania State University, where she graduated in 1970.

Sharon’s greatest joy in life was being the number one fan of her children and grandchildren. Whether cheering from the sidelines or the stands, she rarely missed a game and was always the loudest supporter, proudly wearing team colors and encouraging everyone with her bright spirit.

A devoted wife, Sharon loved traveling the world with her husband, creating unforgettable memories in every corner of the globe. Her heart, however, always had a special place for Penn State. A passionate fan, she made it a cherished tradition to take her grandchildren to the legendary White Out games, an experience she believed every one of them should share.

She also spent countless hours tending her garden, where she found peace among the flowers. A skilled and generous quilter, Sharon crafted beautiful quilts that she donated to hospitals and charitable organizations, sharing warmth and comfort with others through her handiwork.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Neal Smith; sons Mark Smith and Mike (Alicia) Smith; daughters Kara (Brian) Rothermel and Keli (Inako) Puzo; sisters Terrie (Dale) Bingaman and Debbie (Bill) Bordner; grandchildren Kalee and Aaron Rothermel, Luke, Nathan, and Brady Smith, Xavi and Ian Puzo; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her in laws, Charles and Carrie Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at V.L .Seebold Funeral Home, 601 North High Street, Selinsgrove with Rev. Robert P. Doll officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM prior to the service.
