Shaun James Ray, 44, of Selinsgrove passed away on Monday afternoon, October 20, 2025, in the Emergency Room at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville with his family at his side.
Shaun was born on August 26, 1981, in Altoona. He was the son of Terri (Rorabaugh) Ray of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Thomas Ray of Port Matilda and the stepson of Becky Ray. He was a graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School and Bald Eagle Area Vo-Tech where he received certification in welding and heavy equipment operator.
On May 10, 2008, he married the former Angel Sanders, who survives. The couple were married 17 years at the time of his passing.
Shaun was formerly employed at INSA, Shamokin Dam as a packer and trimmer before his illness. He was a man of faith. Shaun enjoyed fishing, watching hummingbirds around his home, and attending dirt track racing with his family and friends. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the Monday night men’s league and Wednesday night mixed league at Best Bowl, Selinsgrove.
Shaun was known for his smoked barbecue.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his son Bryan Ray at home, a brother Thomas Ray II, two step-brothers John Snook and Bill Snook, two nephews Dominick Ray and Adam Ray, two nieces Lilly Ray and Alicia Ray, a step-nephew Kaleb Snook, a step-niece Makayla Pluebell, maternal grandmother Diane Smith, mother-in-law Brenda Sanders, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mindy and Jeff Zacharzewski and their children Riley and Tanner Zacharzewski, maternal twin aunt Donna Beisecker, maternal uncle Doug and Carol Rorabaugh and family, maternal aunt Kathy Rorabaugh, paternal aunt Susan and Scott Bonsall and family, paternal uncle Glenn and Virginia Ray and family, and many cousins.
Shaun was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, and maternal uncle, and his paternal grandparents and paternal uncle.
A viewing will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove followed by the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Keith Showalter officiating.
