Steven “Steve” James O’Brien Sr. aka "The Great One", 65, aka of Shamokin Dam passed away on Tuesday morning, July 1, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Steven was born on June 22, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York, the son of the late John J. and Muriel (O’Donnell) O’Brien. He was a graduate of Wantagh High School, Wantagh, New York. On November 24, 1984, he married the former Felicia Macaluso, who survives. The couple were married for 40 years at the time of his passing. Steve was formerly employed as a truck driver for SUNOCO and was currently employed at Energy Transfer, Northumberland as a Terminal Operator with 25 years of service. Steve was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Selinsgrove. He was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Mets. He enjoyed restoring classic and antique cars, and shopping with Felicia for antiques. Steve was a great family man as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He was known to be a “Jack of All Trades” with home improvements projects and for sharing funny stories and having a good sense of humor. In addition to his loving wife Felicia, Steve is survived by his three children Steven J. (Glenna) O’Brien Jr., Brittany (Manuel Jr.) Criado, and Erica O’Brien, five grandchildren Anthony, Tayshaun “TJ”, Madison, Julian, and Kandice, two sisters Debra (Alan) Pelman and Colleen (Thomas) Hibbert, a brother John (Toni) O’Brien, many nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Marie Macaluso, a sister-in-law Anna (Michael) Romano, and a brother-in-law Vincent (Lisa) Macaluso. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 112 Fairview Drive, Selinsgrove followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Father Joshua Cavender, Celebrant. Burial will be private. Arrangements by the V. L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High Street, Selinsgrove.
